Hi! So wonderful for you to stop by. My name is Sarah Jay Halliday and I am running for

board of trustees at the East Fishkill Community Library.

You may recognize me from my time working behind the circulation desk at EFK Library, a short but wonderful year and a half. During that time I had the opportunity to meet so many of the wonderful patrons of the library and knew when I left to pursue my small business that I would find my way back to all of you.

 

When the opportunity arose to run for the board I knew it was time, and I hope to serve this wonderful diverse community with the vigor and thoughtfulness we all deserve.

If elected I want to focus on community engagement and education. Library officials should feel like extended family, with the opportunities for dialogue and discussion plentiful.

The world is changing and it is the job of the library to support its patrons while that change happens. As an artist (my photography work has been featured on the EFK Library's gallery wall) and small business owner, I believe it's important for libraries to be a place where anyone, from any and all walks of life, can find support, community and educational opportunities.
